How to use it
- Enter the price the item sold for, or the amount you want to keep if you're working backwards.
- Pick the marketplace. Most sales go through the Verified Marketplace, where fees depend on your level; the Listings Marketplace and StockX Live currently charge sellers nothing.
- Pick your Seller Level from your account's Profile page. If you're new, it's Level 1.
- Read the fees and your payout, and the effective rate. Compare levels to see what moving up would save on your typical sale.
Worked example
A pair of sneakers sells for $180.00 on the Verified Marketplace, seller at Level 1.
Transaction fee: $180.00 × 9% = $16.20. Processing: $180.00 × 3% = $5.40. Fees total $21.60, exactly 12% of the sale. You keep $158.40.
At Level 3 the transaction fee falls to $14.40 and you keep $160.20; at Level 5 it’s $12.60 and $162.00. A $30.00 sale at Level 1 would come to $2.70 + $0.90 = $3.60, so the $5.00 minimum applies and you keep $25.00.
How this is calculated
On StockX's Verified Marketplace the seller pays two fees, both calculated on the final sale price: a transaction fee set by Seller Level, from 9% at Level 1 down to 7% at Level 5, and a flat 3% payment processing fee. US sellers pay a minimum of $5.00 in seller fees, so on a very cheap sale the minimum replaces the percentages. Levels are earned each quarter by number of sales and dollars sold: Level 2 needs 12 sales and $1,500, Level 3 40 sales and $5,000, Level 4 200 and $25,000, and Level 5 800 and $100,000. The newer Listings Marketplace and StockX Live charge the seller no standard selling or processing fees; the buyer covers processing, shipping and any verification. Each fee is rounded to the cent on its own, and reverse mode finds the smallest price that leaves your target after both.

How do I move up a Seller Level?
Levels are assessed on your sales in the current quarter. Level 2 needs 12 sales and $1,500 in the quarter, Level 3 40 sales and $5,000, Level 4 200 sales and $25,000, and Level 5 800 sales and $100,000. Each level takes half a percentage point off the transaction fee, which on a $200 sale is a dollar.
Does the seller pay shipping?
The seller ships the item to a StockX verification centre and receives a prepaid label, with the cost built into the fees on the Verified Marketplace; the buyer pays their own shipping from StockX. On StockX Live the buyer covers shipping except on giveaway orders, which the seller pays for.
What is the $5 minimum?
In the US, if the transaction fee and processing fee together come to less than $5.00, StockX charges $5.00 instead. It only bites on sales under about $42 at Level 1 (or $50 at Level 5), so it matters for accessories and low-value items, not sneakers.
What are the Listings Marketplace and StockX Live?
Two newer ways to sell on StockX, both open to selected sellers by waitlist. Neither charges the seller standard selling or processing fees at launch; the buyer pays them. The seller still bears penalty or return-related fees if something goes wrong with an order.
Are there fees on payouts?
Standard payouts to a bank account carry no separate fee in the US. Payment processing is the 3% already included above.
